My body awakens, my soul thirsts
I long for You, I need You.
Wherefore shall I go other than in prayer
To worship and praise, that I may be worthy
Oh the longing in my heart
So deep I feel, to quiet and hush
No despair, nowhere else I dare to turn.
What I feel, never before have and had
To have not never again, in uttermost thanks
This deep craving never been so real, so unresting
I rejoice in Your Presence and long for It with my breath
My heart deepens, in depths I acquaint with.
Such a world so vast in its simplicity
Such love in its utmost purity
I rejoice in comfort and hope
That there is much awaiting.
Oh but how I long for It,
To no longer suffer and unchain
To untie and no longer vain
But to love and unite
To fortify and surrender
To unify and tender
To rejoice and rest
To love and be loved, to be home at last.
